Hey!
We are Michael and Emily Liebler. Our friends call us Mike & Em. We are Long Island natives, high school sweethearts, and passionate about inspiring Long Islanders to follow Jesus.
Local Church was a dream that started in our hearts as teenagers, but it took 5 years of working on cruise ships and 5 years working at a church in the mid-west before we finally decided to head back to Long Island to start a new church in the fall of 2021.
Now, Local Church is a thriving community of Long Islanders in every stage of faith: exploring, starting, and growing.
Everyone deserves to have a church where they can feel safe, supported, and encouraged in whatever stage of their faith journey they’re in. So, if you don’t have something like that already, we would love to invite you to visit Local Church!

Sometimes, we face battles that no one else can see. So, what do we do when we don’t understand what we’re feeling and hope seems far away? In Peace of Mind, we’ll talk about how to fight our mental battles and find peace.

A little more info:

We are located at 1070 Portion Road. We rent our space from The Village of Faith. While we are unaffiliated organizations, we have become good friends and appreciate their willingness to rent us a completely separate space in their building.

Sunday services start at 9:00a, 10:30a, and 12:00p and are about an hour long. There will be free bagels + coffee, live music, an inspiring message from the Bible, and opportunities to meet new people. We suggest arriving 15 minutes early - especially if you are checking kids into our kids program.

The best place to park is to the left or right as soon as you enter our parking lot from Portion Road. If this space is full, continue to the cross in the parking lot and turn right. There is plenty of space to park there!

We serve complimentary coffee, tea, + bagels every Sunday. Don’t worry, there is cream cheese and butter too. AND you can take your food + drinks into the auditorium with you!

We love Little Locals! Our kids program is totally free and available every Sunday at the same time as our adult program. That means you get to drop your kiddos off (starting 15 minutes before servcice) with our background-checked + experienced volunteers while you enjoy the adult service. We have 3 different environments - nursery, PreK, + Elementary. Each classroom features activities and lessons catered specifically for your child’s mental, emotional, and spiritual development. We believe that one of the most valuable things about church life is the opportunity to build meaningful relationships. At Local Church, this happens best through volunteer teams, events, and small groups. New groups launch quarterly and typically involve a weekly meeting around some kinds of topic or interest. Volunteer teams are always open to new members, but there is no pressure to help out until you are ready - for now, just be our guest!
